We need to talk about Europe


[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his film is part of Counterpoint‘s project Recapturing Europe’s Reluctant Radicals, which explores the different layers of support for populist parties in Europe and the many different – and contextual- motivations for this choice, with the ultimate goal of finding ways to bring these voters back to the mainstream. This short film includes interviews with leading experts, journalists and commentators on politics and populism from many European countries. They discuss the main traits of populist movements and parties in Europe and why they might be appealing to increasing numbers of voters, but also highlight the threats they bring to democratic societies.

Krytyka Polityczna
Krytyka Polityczna (Political Critique) is the largest Eastern European liberal network of institutions and activists. It consists of the online daily Dziennik Opinii, a quarterly magazine, publishing house, cultural centres in Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk and Cieszyn, activist clubs in a dozen cities in Poland (and also in Kiev and Berlin), as well as a research centre: the Institute for Advanced Study in Warsaw.
