On Friday, July 3, 2015, solidarity demonstrations for Greece occurred in more than a dozen German cities. They were organized by activists from a variety of German initiatives, many of them members of the Blockupy movement. Approximately 3,000 participants gathered in Berlin on Oranienplatz, a symbolic place of protest for refugees’ rights in Germany.
People of all ages and nationalities gathered to support and encourage Greek citizens to vote for ‘OXI’ in the referendum held on July 7th.
The demonstrators walked through the city’s center and stopped at Brandenburg Gate in Pariser Platz, all the while chanting “uberall ist OXI, Alle sagen nein.”
