Reclaiming public space through art

Vladimir Us from the Oberliht Association - one of the hubs of Connected Action for the Commons - talks about Oberliht's interest in questions of public space and its use in the neighbourhoods of Chișinău.

“The question of space was always a crucial one for us. We didn’t even have an office for the first eight or nine years. … In the end, the city became our space for inspiration, a place that defined the content of our artistic work and also one that functioned as a studio for making work and showing it. The circle was thus complete: the city inspires content, you rethink it, do something with it, give it a different form, find partners in the city, and find audiences among the inhabitants. All this led us to work in a different way.”
